Don't Go

Today, I shot my part in Miss Amber Sharp's television pilot, Don't Go. It was a quick day for me...I was cast as a medical doctor who diagnoses one of the main character's condition. Gray's Anatomy, here I come! I didn't get a picture of myself in the doctor's jacket [unfortunately you don't get picture proof of how convincing I look as a MD], but I did get a very nice shot of Miss Sharp and me after I was wrapped for the day.
Don't Go continues filming for another week, and once it's totally complete, it will be shopped to networks so that it can get picked up and become your newest weekly addiction. Check out the website for information on some of the cast, crew and a synopsis of the show.
One last picture of the two amazing women who are helming this project and who also made the short I starred in, Triple Minority. Seema Gaur [producer], Amber Sharp [writer/director], me and Vonyse [singer/songwriter]. If you've seen Triple Minority, Vonyse sang and wrote the song that was used as the theme for that movie, Start Over. Besides that, she's just amazing, so go check out her website too.

Too Cool...

I just had the greatest experience ever! While trying to find my cousin's All-Star Game commercial, I turned on the Logo network and there I was. Me! Logo has been rerunning the Short Film program and I finally caught it. Although I've seen the film several times, it's still cool as hell to see myself on TV.

Upward and Onward! This is just the beginning!

Kudos!

I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to some of my peeps who have some exciting stuff going on right now.

Congratulations to Jason Rogel on being cast in Corbin Bersen's indie film! Jason impressed Corbin so much that his part was expanded. Thank God somebody recognizes his amazing talent!

Congratulations to my cousin, Omar, for booking an NBC All-Star Game commercial! Keep an eye out for it during the game. Not only is he family, he's a very talented actor.

Congratulations to Carolyn Ozimok who decided to make a huge life change and dedicate herself to her art and her photography. What an inspiration!

As for me, the director of Triple Minority, Amber Sharp, has offered me a part in her pilot that will be shooting this month. It's called Don't Go and I like to describe it as a cross between Melrose Place and The L Word. I'll be reunited with some of the cast and crew from Triple Minority and am so excited we'll have the opportunity to work together again.

That's it for now...more exciting news on the horizon!

I'd Just Like To Thank...

Awards season is in full swing here in LA. The Grammy's are this weekend and the Oscars are right around the corner. Like most people, I try to make Oscar predictions and I'd like to think I'm pretty good...regardless if I've seen the movie or not.

I'm pretty excited for the Oscars. There are so many movies that I haven't seen yet! 'The Last King of Scotland' is high on the list...Forest looks amazing in it. As is 'Volver', 'The Departed' and 'The Queen'. I'm thinking about taking AMC up on their offer of $30 for the 5 best picture nominees. We'll see...

Also, I'm excited for the Pan African Film Festival, which is taking place in my own backyard! There just aren't enough weekends!
